A History of Innovation….

Rexarc International was founded in 1924 by Carl Smith and Will Swift under the name of The Sight Feed Generator Company. The Sight Feed Generator Company was the first company to introduce a portable carbide-water acetylene generator which featured a glass hopper to monitor carbide usage. The demand for on-site generation of acetylene grew quickly and The Sight Feed Generator Company expanded their work force in order to accommodate the increase in sales.

As time passes, many companies tend to go through periods of innovation and change. For The Sight Feed Generator Company that period was the 1950’s. During this ten year time period, The Sight Feed Generator Company changed their name to Rexarc International, Inc., introduced the ATX Acetylene generator which made it possible for gas distribution centers of all sizes to be able to change their acetylene cylinders, and began to manufacture discharge manifolds. Since then, Rexarc International, Inc. has used their years of knowledge and experience to make the most advanced manifolds on the market and to create thousands of custom manifolds for user specific needs.

Today, Rexarc has a product line that showcases what 80 years of experience and knowledge can lead to. Rexarc’s welding apparatus line includes regulators, torches, tips, and high purity regulators. Rexarc also manufactures complete gas control systems. We supply industrial, medical, and specialty gas equipment that reliably moves molecules from supply to the point of use.

Rexarc’s traditions of excellent quality, support, delivery and customization of products has been passed down through four generations of owners and 75-plus years of business. Our customers know that we were here yesterday, we are here today, and we will be here tomorrow. New ideas and products will arise, but our values and traditions will proudly be upheld long into the future.
