The Model “R” three stage acetylene compressor with 25/50 m³ capacity is a three stage compressor complete with internal and external oil pumps. The two speed electric motor is Class 1, Division 2, and Group A available in most voltages. The compressor is submerged in a water jacket with cooling coils and ASME certified condensate traps with safety valves after each stage of compression. Start and stop switches are furnished with automatic shutdown upon reaching full cylinder pressure.
Acetylene coming from the process skid at 0.4 Bar (6 psig) is compressed up to 25 Bars (370 psig). The three stages of compression including compressor, cooling coils, and moisture traps are submerged in a water tank with the water temperature being maintained at 27ºC (80ºF) to 32ºC (90ºF). This helps in maintaining the acetylene at a safe temperature.
